Life really is better than broccoli...

... and broccoli is about as good as things come! Just back from a family vacation which was long anticipated and much enjoyed. We saw so many different landscapes across a small part of this great country of ours - from the fields of southern Minnesota crops to the rolling hills of South Dakota to the vast expanses of pasture in Nebraska, to the beautiful looming mountains with gorgeous valleys of Colorado to the rock forms of New Mexico to the mountains/pine forests and deserts of Arizona!

Now it's time to get back into gear with preparing for another school year. And preparing involves a bit more than simply shopping for supplies off a checklist, when education happens at home. In some ways, preparations have neither a beginning nor an end. But it is so worth it. Continual learning happens not only for the kids, but for the parents as well, and learning always brings lively anticipation for the next bend, which is why life becomes better than broccoli. That is, life in general, not that there aren't some undesirable twists and turns that interspersed here and there... that wouldn't be reality.
